Wednesday, 18 August 2010 -The Harari Congress is honored to announce launching its on-line Ramadan Sadaqa/Fitre fund raising campaign from all donors.
Last year, the Harari Congress in Diaspora has raised significant fund during Ramadan and has successfully distributed on time to the needy in Harar.
This year again, in continuation of this worthy and religious duty, the Congress is gearing up to work with reliable volunteer group in Harar, and, would like to extend its humble request to all Donors in Diaspora who wish to channel their Sadaqa/Fitre through.
The Harari Congress is also pleased to announce encouraging working partnership with Amana Kids in Harar. In this regard, it has recently raised a generous fund of over $ 4000.00 US to benefit orphans under Amana Kids care. Furthermore, in their most recent joint meeting, both organizations have renewed their commitment to strengthen their working partnership in to the next higher level.
The Congress is dedicated to take the lead in coordinating Harari resources in Diaspora, maintain to be transparent and accountable, and, is committed to continue to update the public periodically regarding its progresses and challenges.

It is the month of fasting and prayer, the month that provides us an opportunity to purify our soul, our mind our body and to ask Allah's forgiveness from our sins. It is the month for doing good deeds. It is the month when the gates of the heavens are opened. It is the month of giving charity.

The Harari Congress (HCD) invited all Local Afochs to discuss collaborative work in the current calendar year
Since inception, the HCD was mindful of the importance of Afochas as a foundation for our strength on the global stage. Recognizing the rightful position as representatives of Hararis in their respective local constituency, the Congress is set to hold joint meeting with all Local Afocha organizations in Diaspora on Feb28, 2010. The joint meeting is intended to discuss on how both entities can work together collaboratively as partners. The HCD is appreciative of all local Afocha Organizations’ noble work and committed to support their endeavour of advancing Harari interests.

December Update
The Harari Congress strengthened relations with Edmonton Harari Canadian Community
Gessi Mahdi Mohammed Ali, Public Relations Officer and Board member made his presentation to Edmonton Harari Canadian members during their Annual Conference. He also presented a gift from the Congress during Arafa celebration. Gessi Mahdi highlighted the achievements of the Congress so far and invited Edmonton Hararis to join the Congress and help the needy at home.
Two HCD Board Delegates of Harari Congress from Italy and Sweden met Swiss Harari Afocha executives.
The Harari Congress Public Relations delegates Ramzi Adus (Rome) and Ibrahim Idris (Sweden) met the Swiss Harari Afocha to foster the relations between the two brotherly Harari Organizations. The two delegates explained the objective and its accomplishments since established.
The Congress received final report regarding Donations raised during Ramadan from Harar.
Ramadan Sadaqa (Donations) raised by the Harari Congress and collaborated by Harari group in Addis reached its intended recipients. The Harari Congress sincerely appreciates and is thankful to those individuals and groups of Hararis who made this noble endeavour possible. The Congress is committed to raise substantially larger donation next year Insha Allah.
The Harari Congress in Diaspora received a second recognition from Amana Kids.
The Harari Congress received a second recognition for its generous donation during Ramadan from Amana Kids Organization. The Congress donated well over 16,000 Birr to benefit orphans. The Congress is committed to do more in the coming years.
The Harari Congress in Diaspora (HCD) Secretary met and hand delivered a letter to Harari President Murad Abdullhadi
During the Harari revitalization project campaign by the president of the Harari Administration Murad Abdulhadi, the secretary of the Harari Congress delivered an official letter to establish working relations and for the administration to facilitate the work of the Congress to alleviate our region’s socio-economic problems. The HCD continues, to date, its communications with officials of the administration.
